SABENA (Belgium)

1968

I managed to get two of these old Sabena uniforms in light blue fabric. These are actually the oldest Sabena uniforms I have.

1972 by Louis Feraud

The only piece I have from this wonderful series of uniforms. This is the jumper which was worn with a white shirt. A former air hostess told me it could be worn alone or over a suit.

There were 2 colours: either red with Navy piping or just the opposite. New pictures should be available shortly with the match scarf.

1981

Unfortunately not complete : the Navy jacket, the burgundy scarf and the belt with stylised Sabena are missing.

1985-89

Produced by Moraine. On top is the winter uniform (shirt is issued in 1987 and onwards). At the bottom, an attempt to reproduce a mixed crew Sabena summer and British Caledonian which flew on combo 747 on the route Brussels - Gatwick - Atlanta in 1985-86

1990-99

Made by Olivier Strelli. A real eyecatcher, and one of my preferred uniforms

1999-2001

Also designed by Olovier Strelli.
For the first time, all staffs of the 3 subsidiaries (Sabena, Sobelair and DAT) are wearing the same uniform. The only difference is the color stripe across the winter shawl: white for Sabena, fuschia for DAT and green for Sobelair.
